Wanda Carol Johnson

It is with deep sorrow and sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our Beautiful and Beloved Mother, Wanda Carol Johnson, on June 8th, 2022 in Somerset, Ky at the age of 83. Wanda is survived by her Soulmate of 42 years, Donald A. Benton. They first met at the Sorghum Festival in West Liberty, Ky on September 28, 1980. They spent many years working together at BFS Printing, Dayton, Ohio. Once they retired, they settled in their home in Nancy, Ky which lovingly became known as “Piney Woods.” They spent their time “always together” enjoying every minute, fishing, hunting, watching Nascar, mowing, and sitting on the front porch feeding the animals. Momma loved to sing in her younger days, loved watching UK Basketball, reading and visits from family, friends and neighbors. Anyone that has ever known this amazing woman knows that her nature and soul touched many in their own ways. Her compassionate, caring, loving, insightful wisdom reached those beyond the spectrum of not only humans, but any living creatures around. If you could imagine angels living in our presence she was nothing short of just that. She was preceded in death by her husband and father to their 5 children, Harold R. Johnson, her eldest Son Nicky Shane Johnson, her Mother Elizabeth Edwards, her Father John Edwards and Grandchild, Sara Elizabeth Johnson. She leaves behind to cherish her precious memory, Don Benton, her son Harold Johnson of Dayton, Ohio, 3 daughters, Vickie Johnson of Somerset, Ky, Sandy Johnson of Winchester, Ky, Melissa Johnson of Germantown, Ohio, Grandchildren, Rachel Johnson, Christian Johnson, Benjamin Zugelder, April Johnson, Anthony Schaffer, Alyson Johnson, August Johnson, Mason Johnson and Matthew Zugelder, 4 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. A “Celebration and Memorial of Wanda’s Life Beautiful Soul” will be Saturday, June 11th at 2:00 pm at her home on Piney Woods. All who knew and loved her are invited to join the Family. Food will be provided
