Shirley Miller Hurtt, age 74 of Monticello, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at her home.

She was born on April 14, 1949 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, daughter of Martha Reames Miller and the late Arliss Miller. She had worked at Walmart and was of the Church of Christ faith. She was an avid UK Wildcat fan, loved crocheting, camping and spending time with her family. Shirley loved to have fun, make people laugh and lived life to the fullest. Most of all, she cherished her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, James “Jim” Hurtt; and one grandson, Jarad Hurtt.

She is survived by her mother, Martha Miller; sons, Mike (Kim) Hurtt of Maryville, Tennessee and Bobby (Spring) Hurtt of Bronston; daughter, Teri (Mark) Lee of Monticello; brothers, Everett (Rose), Dave (Jamie), Jeff, Walt, and Kevin Miller; sisters, Joyce (Bill) Hurtt, Bev (Dick) Postell, Celeste (John) Clifton, Crystal Miller and Penny Snyder; 7 grandchildren, Zabery Hurtt, Christopher Lester, Cassie Lester Atkinson (Savannah), Ashlee (Justin) Byrd, Wyatt (Anna) Hurtt, Payton Berth and Savanah (Jessie) Hudson and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Bro. Grant Hardwick officiating. Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
