Sherri Spears
A private graveside service will be held.
Sherri Spears, age 59, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Monday, March 30, 2020. Sherri was born on January 3, 1961 to Nina Cummins and the late Don Cummins. Shortly after high school, she married the love of her life and best friend, David. During their 40 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children, Jon David and Brandi Jo that she loved with every piece of her being. Through them, Sherri was given the blessing of adding a daughter-in-law, Angela Spears and son-in-law, Isaiah Super to her family. At the center of her universe were her 5 grandchildren, Micah Super, Cooper Spears, Abel Super, Lily Super and Ezra Super that she cherished and spoiled every moment she got.
The only thing Sherri loved more than her family was her Savior. She was a founding member of LIFE Church Somerset where she loved to worship alongside her family and she also served as the church treasurer. She was not shy about her faith and found great pleasure in being able to share the love of Jesus with all those around her. Sherri was a faithful employee of Citizens National Bank where she has worked for the past several years. She loved life more than most and rarely sat idle. She and David loved to stay busy with various projects around the house, hobbies, auctions, adventures and animals. Her laugh was contagious which made her a joy to be around.
Sherri is survived by her husband, two children, five grandchildren and mother; as well as two sisters, Vicki (and Randy) VanHook and Nina (and Shawn) Hines and two sisters-in-law, Jamie Cummins and Sandy (and Gene) Burton, mother-in-law, Virginia Spears and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved dearly. Proceeding her in death were her beloved Daddy; father-in-law, Vernon Spears; brother, Donnie Cummins and brother-in-law, Larry Stokes all of which she missed terribly.
She was a lady who enjoyed life so much and lived it to the fullest, always placing the needs of others above her own. As her final act here on earth, she chose to continue blessing others, offering the gift of extended life by being an organ donor. A couple of things Sherri would want each of us to remember – live fully, love fiercely and laugh often because life is too short. She would also want us to know that because of her relationship with Christ, she is now living a life more fully than ever before.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is honored to care for her. Due to current circumstances, a private graveside service will take place for family and a public memorial service will be held once restrictions have been lifted. Donations in honor of Sherri may be made to LIFE Church Somerset. You may also honor her by becoming an organ donor in her memory by signing up at donatelifeky.org
