Seldon A. Dykes

Seldon A. Dykes, age 76, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at his home.
He was born on June 27, 1942 in Somerset, son of the late Jesse and Dona L. Brinson Dykes.
Seldon worked the family farm and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed watching old T.V. shows such as Andy Griffith and Hee Haw, visiting the Smoky Mountains, and collecting knives and watches. He was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Gertrude Mae Aulby.
He is survived by four brothers, Johnny Ray (Goldie) Dykes of Seymour, Indiana, Daymond (Penny) Dykes of West Port, Indiana, Jessie Oliver Dykes of Somerset and Dennis Earl (Penny) Dykes of Elizabethtown, Indiana; two sisters, Geraldine (Glenn) Cook and Sandra Vanhook (Mike) Theobald, all of Somerset; a host of friends, and other relatives, and a special niece, Carol Shadley; and special cousin, Nancy Dykes Meece.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral services to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Bro. Dalous Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Theobald, Bub Poynter, Bobby Perkins, Brian Cook, Jason Garner and Cody Weddle.
