Ronald Gene “Crazy Horse” Marcum

Ronald Gene “Crazy Horse” Marcum, age 56 of Nancy, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at his home.

He was born on July 2, 1967 in Rochelle, Illinois, the son of Carolyn Boshers Isaacs. He was a construction worker in Lexington for many years where he had many friends and gained the nickname “Crazy Horse”. He liked shooting pool, fishing and ginseng hunting.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Herbert Isaacs; brother, Harold Dean Marcum; grandparents, Hiram and Mary Boshers and sister-in-law, Brenda Marcum.

He is survived by his mother Carolyn Isaacs; sons, Joshua Marcum and Matthew (Sarah) Prater all of Lexington, KY; daughter, Gina (Dustin) Rose of Hopkinsville, KY; brother, Joseph (April) Isaacs of Nancy; nieces, Melanie (Johnny) Noble and Tiffany Jackson; nephews, TJ Jackson, Phillip Noble, Dryden Noble and Owen Noble; two grandchildren, Gabriella Rose and Austin Rose; special friends Beverly Upthegrove and everyone at Office Lounge.

A special thank you to Dr. Justin Williams and his awesome nurses at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Bro. Joseph Callaway Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow in the Porter-Barker Cemetery in Nancy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Ronald Gene “Crazy Horse” Memorial Fund.
