Robert Charles “Chip” Wood

Robert Charles “Chip” Wood passed away peacefully on Saturday December 17, 2022 surrounded by his wife, children, siblings and many friends. Chip was sixty-four years old and led a life full of love and energy in whatever he was doing and with whomever was fortunate enough to know him. Chip leaves behind his wife, Kathy, daughter Brittany Wood Robinson (Ryan), son Robert Tyler Wood, grandkids, Kamdyn & Finn, brother Bill Wood (Susan), sisters Gwen Bergin (Mike), and Sheila Wood Bennett (Raymond) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Chip in death are his parents Robert and Patricia Wood and his sister Laurie Wood-Lyons.

Chip was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 18, 1958.  He lived on Bostwick Lake and graduated from Rockford Public Schools in 1976 and from Ferris State University with an associate’s degree. He worked as a Respiratory Therapist until three years ago.

When Chip wasn’t working, he was often found tending to his yard, boating or watching the Detroit Lions.  Chip’s zest for life, love for his wife family, friends and co-workers will be dearly missed. Everyone who knew him will also miss his witty sense of humor.

Please join us in celebrating Chip’s life, Tuesday, December 20, 2022.  Visitation at Southern Oaks Funeral Home 2110 KY-914, Somerset, KY, at 4:30 service at 6pm.
