Raybern E. Battles

Raybern E. Battles, age 85, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Raybern was born on August 17, 1938 in Rainsville, Alabama. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Ford Motor Company, Rouge Plant, was a Mason Member of Lodge #112 Wayne Westland. He loved to travel, ride motorcycles and fellowship with friends and family.

Raybern was preceded in death by his sister, Neva Satterfield. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 years, Bertha Battles, son Dean Battles and daughter, Rene Hobbs both of Somerset, Ky; grandchildren, Ryan Hobbs, Rechel Hobbs, great-grandson Logan Hobbs all of Michigan; along with a host of friends and family members.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 3-8pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2pm. Mason Service will be performed as a courtesy by Somerset Lodge #111 at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Southern Oaks Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Raybern E. Battles.
