Orville Slavey, Jr.

Orville Slavey, Jr. age 72 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Orville served his country in the United States Army and worked as a parking attendant at the Pulaski County Court House. He loved watching Kentucky Basketball and going hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances Slavey; brothers, Gerald Wayne Slavey, James Slavey and Floyd Slavey; and sisters, Wilma Jean Brown, Ona Brown and Loretta Slavey.

He is survived by his son, Brian (Jessica) Slavey of Somerset; daughter, Erica (Chris) Kirby of Somerset; brother, Ronny (Lisa) Slavey of Somerset; sister, Linda Slavey of Somerset; granddaughter, Delaney Grace Kirby; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Shaw officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathan Stout, Jimmy Slavey, T.J. Slavey, Jeff Wilson, Donnie Godbey and Terry Haste. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
