Okel E. Stogsdill

Okel E. Stogsdill age 88, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.

Okel was born on May 26, 1935 to the late Josiah Stogsdill and Nora Hargis Stogsdill in Drum, Kentucky.

He was a member of Whetstone Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching sports, especially UK Basketball, fishing, hunting, reading and hot rods. Most of all he cherished his family.

Okel was preceded in death by his parents, Josiah and Nora Stogsdill, brothers, Ermil Stogsdill, Orville Stogsdill, Arnold Stogsdill and Othnal Stogsdill, sisters, Edna Whitis, Mary Mounce, Dorothy Mounce, Elma Haste, Olive Stogsdill and Doris Stogsdill.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 years Zora Stogsdill, sons, Dwayne Stogsdill of Somerset, Ky; Brian “Doug” Stogsdill (Sherry) of Science Hill, Ky; Daniel Stogsdill (Kelly) of Southgate, MI and grandsons, Corey and Kyle Stogsdill.

Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
