Neddie Herald

Neddie Herald, age 83, of Science Hill Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, while visiting family in Elgin, Illinois.

Born March 15, 1939, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, he was raised by his late grandparents, William and Nancy Ann Herald. Ned was a 30-year retiree of the GM plant in Norwood, Ohio, and a member of Wesley Chapel, in Pulaski County, KY.  He was an avid UK basketball and Reds baseball fan, and was affectionately known as “Paw” to much of his family.

Visitation and funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. with service to begin at 2 p.m. at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Doris Herald; brother, William; daughter, Barbara; four stepchildren, Tim (Rene) Chinn, Dottie (Ronnie) Cordle, Darrell (Faith) Chinn, and Janet (Joe) Leist; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Dylan, Justin, Hope, Jacob, Matthew, Luke, John, and Jaden; four great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Dominic, Eisley, and Vincenzo.
