Mr. Jesse Bowling

Mr. Jesse Bowling age 84, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Jesse was born on September 22, 1939 to the late Farris Bowling and Grace Gilbert Bowling in McWhorter, Kentucky.

He owned and operated Bowling’s Body Shop and used cars, for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, he was Fisherman of the Year – 3 years in a row. He was also an outdoors man, who loved hunting.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Farris and Grace Bowling and great-grandson, Silas Boggs.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Sue Bowling, son, Dale Bowling (Leia) of Somerset, Ky; daughters Rebecca Bates of Somerset, Ky; Donna Lakes (Jeff) of Annville, Ky; Freda Mae Huff (Mitchell) of OH; Annette Boggs (Rodney) of Annville, Ky; Jessica Kingsley (Chris) of Somerset, Ky; sisters, Shirley Adams (Robert “Bob”) of TN; Juanita Herrington (Fred) of Cynthina, Ky; special granddaughter, Kristen Kingsley; along with 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2pm with Bro. Moses Frasure officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jesse Bowling Memorial Fund. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Jesse Bowling.
