Michael Lee Chumbley

Michael Lee Chumbley, age 70, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, July 14th, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.
Michael was born on March 16, 1953 to the late Leonard Chumbley and Verna Hansford Chumbley in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was raised going to the Methodist Church in Shopville, Kentucky. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed hunting, boating, playing cards, golfing and spending time with family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mable Lois Ussery; brother in law, James Lee Tilley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Barbara Tilley Chumbley; son, Eric Chumbley, granddaughter, Teagan Michelle Chumbley of Somerset, Ky; daughter, Courtney (Carl) Wesley of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Jimmy (Sherri) Chumbley of Somerset, Ky; sister, Alice Chumbley Jackson (JR) of Burnside, Ky; brothers in law, Allen (Karen) Tilley of Nancy, Ky; David (Jamey) Tilley of Science Hill, Ky; sister in law, Becky Hardgrove of Science Hill, Ky; uncle, Jay Hansford (Rheagenia Cain Hansford); along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and special pet “Sugar”.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 16th, 2023 from 12 to 3 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 3 P.M. with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Michael Lee Chumbley.
