Maxine Rogers Godsey

Maxine Rogers Godsey, age 89, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on June 16, 1932 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, daughter, of the late Charlie Omer Rogers and Mary Rogers. The wife of a United Methodist Minister. She helped serve in the ministry of our Lord most of her life. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she cherished the time spent with family. Her favorite hobbies included: quilting, art and playing the piano.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. James Herbert Godsey; her daughter, Sharon Gayle Hughes; three brothers, Kenneth Rogers, Ed Rogers and Charles Rogers; and a sister, Irene Daulton.

She is survived by her grandson, Ryan (Jennifer) Hughes; great granddaughter, Abbigayle Jo Hughes; a sister, Wilma Jean Burton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12 P.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Doug Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Science Hill Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Maxine Rogers Godsey.
