Mary Ruth Brown Weaver

Mary Ruth Brown Weaver, age 97, of Somerset, KY passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Neighborhood in Somerset.
Mary was born on July 16, 1925 at Touristville, KY to L.E. and Laura Dunagan Brown.
She is survived by two daughters: Cathy and Rodney Jones of Somerset, KY and Pam and Robert Hay of Albany, Ky; five grandchildren, Greg and Franki Dalton, Rodney and Jennifer Dalton, Laura Hay-Guffey and Jeremy Derryberry, Wesley and Becki Hay and Alex and Stephanie Jones. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren: Kelsey, Natalie, Adam, Claire, Kendall, Mac, Jacob, Grayson and AJ. Also surviving are step-grandchildren, JD and Tosha Jones, Chad and Erica Jones and Jennifer and Dusty Mayfield and their children along with step great grandchildren, Hunter, Dylan, Brock and Elijah.
A dear sister-in-law, Shirley Brown survives. A host of loving nieces and nephews are left to mourn her loss.
Mary leaves behind to cherish some very special friends that she stayed in constant touch with: June Hall, Shirley Whitaker, Diane Howard, Betty Herrin, and Brenda Peavie. Also surviving are wonderful neighbors, Olen and Deb Couch and Jared and Angie Simpson as well as all the good neighbors on Cromer Drive.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Weaver and her sisters and brothers, Kathleen Campbell, Emery Brown, Betty Wright, and Bobby Brown also sisters and brother in law, Ora Mae, Frank, Susie, Lucy, and Joe.
Mary accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age. She was a member of the Mill Springs Christian Church. For many years, Mary faithfully attended New Salem Baptist Church of Frazer, Ky. After moving to Somerset, Mary attended the Oak Hill Baptist Church.
After 27 years employment Mary retired from Belk at the age of 75.
Funeral services for Mary will be August 12, 2022 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a visitation from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Funeral services are to follow at Southern Oaks with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Springs Cemetery at Monticello, KY.
