Lisa Phelps

Lisa Phelps, age 62, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her home.

Lisa was born on September 16, 1960 to the late James & Zella Turpin in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was of the Church of God faith. She enjoyed reading, fishing, swimming, sports,  shopping, photography and watching classic movies. Most of all she cherished her family and loved spending time with her twin grandsons. 

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, James “Jim” and Zella Turpin; brothers, Timothy Turpin, Junior Collins, Wayne “Jim” Collins, Harold Turpin, Gerald Turpin, James D. Turpin; sisters, Barbara Ann Collins, Margie Turpin and Betty Foster. She was also preceded in death by her very special niece, Brandy Turpin-Perkins.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 45 years, David Phelps of Eubank, KY; daughter, Gynger Phelps (Tony) of Somerset & Lancaster, KY;  twin grandsons, Tristan and Tucker Langford; three bonus grandchildren, Ethan Mills, Jillian Langford, and Addison Langford, all of Somerset; Brothers, Steve (Kathy) Turpin of Somerset, David (Teresa) Turpin of Burnside, KY; sister, Juanita (Bob) Wilkerson of Paris, KY; special nieces, Tammy Collins, Stephanie Turpin, as well as friends, Gerry Lynn Calhoun and Sharon Ping that were all more like sisters. All of Somerset, KY.  She has MANY other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends that she was so proud of, and loved dearly that will greatly miss her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 5-8 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 12 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Lisa Phelps.
