Lisa Kay Smith, age 65, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Lisa was born on October 24, 1957 to Charles Chester Lawson and Rosella Ballard Lawson in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was a member of Gardenside Christian Church in Lexington, Ky. She was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan, loved to cook, enjoyed spending time with family, a very strong and selfless person, and a wonderful mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren. Lisa was a very patriotic person and was a member of ROTC in her youth. She was a loyal wife and devoted to her husband of 44 years. Lisa is continuing to help others by being an organ donor.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Charles Chester Lawson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Robert Smith, her mother, Rosella Lawson, her sons, Charles Bradley Smith of IN; Robert Thomas (Krista) Smith of Bryantsville, Ky; Jonathan Bennett Smith of Waynesburg, Ky; daughter, Amanda Kay (Ryan) Davis of Somerset, Ky; sisters, Shirley Rose Kookendoffer, Alma Diane Moore and Tina Gale Holman all of Lexington, Ky; grandchildren, Chelsey Dawn Baker, Kent Koda Smith, Emily Koda Smith, BreeAnn Renee Smith, Braiden Thomas Smith, Lily Kay Davis, Lauren Ruth Davis, Leah Rosella Davis; great-grandchildren, Kaden Allen Baker, Addison Claire Baker and Aria Mae Deathridge.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Lisa Kay Smith.
