John J.C. Thomas, age 71, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.

John was born July 31,1950 to Dewey Thomas and Virgie Dees Thomas in Berea, Kentucky.

He was of the Baptist faith and loved his family, children, nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved horses and watching westerns on T.V. along with basketball.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy Thomas, Clayton Thomas; sisters, Ruth Tankersly, Mary Jane Isaacs and stepson, Timothy Cottrell.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Margie Thomas; sons, Daniel Thomas and Joshua Thomas both of Somerset; brother, Michael Thomas (Janice) of Somerset; sisters, Marjorie Norris (James) of Cynthiana, Ky; Louise Davis of Berea, Ky; Pat Pallant of Hamilton, OH; Phyllis Hendricks of Berea, Ky; Barb Fischer of Loveland, OH; Cathy Barnes of Somerset; stepdaughter, Billie Jo Stokes (Eric) of Mt. Vernon, Ky; brother-in-law, Gene Isaacs of Mt. Vernon, Ky; granddaughter, Takina Cottrell; great-grandsons, Brantley Cottrell, Camden Cottrell; along with a large extended family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 12 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1 P.M. with Bro. Chris Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Alexander, Edwin Alexander, Ernie Alexander, Jason Niceley, John Sims, John Jackson and David Hewitt. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for John J.C. Thomas.
