John Henry Newton, age 75, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Friday, August 12, 2022 at The Neighborhood.

John was born December 8, 1946 to Thurman E. Newton and Gertrude Parnell Newton in Paragould, Arkansas.

His faith was in Jesus and he enjoyed bowling, building things and staying active. He was quick witted, loved his friends and family, and cherished laughter.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Gertrude Newton. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Loretta Newton, son, John Michael (Caroline) Newton of Indian Trail, NC; daughters, Judith Ann (Cary) DiDomenico of Lebanon, TN; Janet Lynn (Stan) Vickers of Somerset, Ky; grandchildren, Abigail (Shane) Baker, Mary Newton, Andrea Newton, Anna (Josh) Moore, Toby (Grace) Newton; great-grandchildren, Oscar Henry Newton and Charlotte Baker.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 12 to 2 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to begin at 2 P.M. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for John Newton.
