Jo Ann Burton

Jo Ann Burton, age 61, of Nancy, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, January 2, 2023 at her home.

Jo Ann was born on June 19, 1961 to the late Carlos “Ray” Sellars and Georgia Back Sellars in Hazard, Kentucky.

She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church #2 and was a very social lady and enjoyed people. Always lent a helping hand and cherished her faith in God, her family, friends and furbabies, “Chloe” and “Jack”

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Georgia Sellars, brother, Jimmy West and sister, Louise Couch.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Carlos (Michelle Bullock) Burton of Somerset, Ky; companion, Brad Davis; sisters, Margie Gilley of Sardinia, OH; Nancy Anderson of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Kierra Burton, Jasmine Emerson, Dakota Burton and Madison Bullock. Along with her grandchildren’s mother, Stephanie Burton and special friends, Mike and Linda Powell. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1 P.M. with Bro. David Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jo Ann Burton Memorial Fund. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Jo Ann Burton.
