James Larry Nicholas

James Larry Nicholas age 77, passed away suddenly December 20, 2023 at his home in Nancy, Ky. He was born June 7, 1946, the son of Cecil “Boof” and Ann Nicholas at Tateville, Ky. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara McLin Nicholas and son Micah.
Larry was employed for many years as a truck driver and retired from Shell. He enjoyed driving and making new friends. He was a “talker” and never met a stranger. He was well liked by all who knew him.
When he was younger, he enjoyed riding his Harley. He was always a car enthusiast and enjoyed the Summernite Cruisers when he was able. Above all he loved the Lord and his family. He was a member of Piney Grove #2 Baptist Church and Sievers #491 Masonic Lodge at Nancy, Ky. Other than his wife and son, he is survived by 2 sisters Brenda Lay (Bill) and Sandy Coffey, one brother Donald Nichola s (Betty). Sisters-in-Law Arevana Tarter and Chestine Waltz. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronnie Nicholas.
Masonic Funeral Rites will be conducted Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Noon in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Public Visitation will immediately follow from 12:20-1 P.M. Funeral services will begin at 1pm with Bro. Joseph Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Piney Grove #2 Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for James Larry Nicholas.
