James “Jim” Dick

James “Jim” Dick, age 81 of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, March 1, 2024 at his home.

He was born on April 23, 1942 in Somerset, Kentucky, son of the late Joe and Bertha Wallace Dick.

He attended Beech Grove Methodist Church and was Department Manager for Walmart until his retirement. James proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid UK fan and watching TV and tending to his flower garden are amongst the things that he enjoyed the most.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Boyd Dick and sisters, Christine, Kathlene, Imogene, Pauline, Irene and Edna.

He is survived by his brother Billy (wife Nancy) Dick of Science Hill, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2023 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
