James “Eric” Griggs

James “Eric” Griggs age 30, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Eric was born August 2, 1990 to Rodney Smith and Mauricia Taylor Smith in Paducah, Kentucky.

He was a member of Dripping Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed music of all kinds, Peppa Pig was his favorite cartoon.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Taylor, Dallas and Sueann Dick, great-grandparents, Clayburn Meece and JoAnn Meece and also great-grandmother, Pauline Webber. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Rodney and Mauricia Smith, grandmother, Brenda Taylor of Somerset, brother, Jeremy Smith of Somerset, sister, Theresa Smith of Somerset, uncles, Doug (Dreama) Smith of Somerset, Bill (Glenda) Taylor, Paul (Joy) Taylor, Ronnie (Cookie) Taylor, aunt, Kim Eddleman of Somerset, Paula Whitis, niece, Sarah, nephews, Zachary, Jace and Brantley. Also survived by his special friends, his pet dogs, Rocky and Paisley. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 from 12 to 2 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2 P.M. with Bro. Larry Meece officiating, burial will follow in Dahl Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
