Iva Dean Waddle

Iva Dean Waddle, age 89 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on May 17, 1934 in Bandy, Kentucky, daughter of the late Milton and Maude Denny Purcell. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search, reading books and watching television, especially Sweet Home Alabama. She loved her family time and hanging out with her kids and grandkids. She was a great country home cook and was a very independent lady. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Waddle; brothers, Chester Purcell, Charles Purcell and Junior Purcell; sisters, Lillian Phillipi and Wilma Stogsdill; half-sisters, Ethel Purcell and Maggie Purcell.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Wilson (Kenneth Belcher) of Somerset; grandchildren, Brian Cochran and Ashley, Brittany Cochran, Logan Wilson, Catherine Polston and Cody, Lorraine and Travis Wilson and Donna and Tony Eby; great-grandchildren, Ava Cochran, Conner Morris, Destini Morris, Bryson Polston, Maddie Polston, Shane Wilson, Kenneth Eby and Eli Eby; and a special caretaker, Nancy Belcher.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Good Hope Chapel Cemetery.
