Ilene Dye

Ilene Dye, age 92, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Ilene was born on December 27, 1930 to the late Chester Stogsdill and Catherine Alexander Stogsdill in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was a member of West Somerset Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, visiting church and singing in the church choir. She loved to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ilene was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Catherine Stogsdill, her husband, Darwin Dye, brother, Arlie “Bud” Stogsdill, sisters, Emma White, Ina Henderson and Theda Mae Stogsdill.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Gordon Dye (Darla White) of Nancy, Ky; brother, Ray Stogsdill of Somerset, Ky; grandchildren, Heather Bishop (Corey) of Somerset, Ky; Stephanie Dye of Somerset, Ky and great-grandsons Logan and Dustin Lay of Somerset, Ky. Along with special friend, Evelyn Creekmore. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 10am to 12pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12pm with Bro. Larry Butte officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Ilene Dye.
