Gloria Ann “Chicken” Decker

Gloria Ann “Chicken” Decker, age 75 of Burnside, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home.

She was born on March 24, 1946 in Monticello, Kentucky, daughter of the late Homer and Beatrice Gilbert Jones.

Gloria was a homemaker and loved the outdoors. She had a love for her flowers and garden, and loved birdwatching and to travel all over the states. She was a member of Burnside Baptist Church. Gloria loved her family dearly, but her number one love was her great-granddaughter, Heidi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Carl B. Decker, daughter; Lessa L. Decker, brothers; Donnie Jones and Johnny Jones, and sister; Emma Jones.

She is survived by her children; Teresa (Howard D) Geffert and Janet Gaskins, 7 grandchildren; Tiffany Goodman, Mashana Easterly, Joshua Gossett, Eric Gosser, Victoria Bolin, Samantha Gosser and Waylon Gaskins, 6 great-grandchildren; Heidi Sharp, Tyler Sharp, Bentlee Tony, Brylee Tony, Brinceson Bolin and Baby Avery J. Geddings, 7 brothers and sisters; Faye (Danny) Coffey, Sylvia (Lyle David) Bell, Kenneth (Kathy) Jones, Lee (Wilma) Jones, Rosemary (Claude) Foster, Eddie (Cathy) Jones and Porter Jones.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 26, 2021 after 5:00 p.m. at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Christian officiating. Burial will be in Elk Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
