Gerald Mitchell

Gerald Mitchell, age 75, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

He was born on July 26, 1944 in the Saline Community where he grew up. He was the son of the late Oris “Sonny” E. and Thelma Miller Mitchell.

Gerald was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church and a National Guard Veteran. He was a former Sunday School Teacher for the adult class at Parkers Mill Baptist Church and Ringgold Baptist Church. He also owned Gerald Mitchell Auto Sales and graduated from Pulaski County High School in 1962. Gerald will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy, his sister Sue, and a great-grandson, Michael.

His wife, Patricia Mitchell, whom he married on September 14, 1967 in Jellico, Tennessee, still survives. They were married for 52 years. Other survivors include his sister, Sandy (Doug) Barrett of Florida, one daughter; Sheila Ramsey of Somerset, two sons; Rodney (Vonda) Mitchell of Richmond, Indiana and Richard (Angela) Mitchell of Somerset, sister-in-law; Mary Mitchell, six grandchildren; Keith Mitchell, Dakota Mitchell, Samantha Butte, Lucas Mitchell, Shelbie Ramsey and Emily Mitchell, five great-grandkids; Jude Mitchell, Brycen Butte, Aurora Mitchell, Carter Butte and Amelia Mitchell.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte and Bro. Kurt Neeley officiating.

Burial will be in Saline Cemetery.
