Gary R. “Fat Boy” Short, age 78, of Nancy, Kentucky passed from this life Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Casey County Hospital.

Gary was born July 15, 1944 to Emond Short and Bernice (Shrout) Short in Dayton, Ohio.

He was of the Christian faith and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wankaew Short and brothers, Donald and Ronald Short. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Sandy (Jason) Denham of Nancy, Ky; grandchildren, Cory, Sophia, Hayley and Eric; special nieces, Renee, Joann and Melinda; special nephew, David; bonus daughter, Kim Morano; along with many other nieces and nephews abroad.

In accordance with Gary’s wishes there will be no services. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Gary R. “Fat Boy” Short.
