Estill E. Bowling

Estill E. Bowling, age 77, of Somerset departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Bowling Green Medical Center. Esti!I was born in Hyden, KY on May 25, 1943 to the late Altro Bowling and Fae Huff Bowling. He served his country as an Airman in the United States Air Fctrce from 1963-1967.
Estill was a member of Ferguson Baptist Church. Estill was first and foremost a true christian in every sense. He enjoyed spending time with his family and church family. He took over the role from his youngest brother as the “official hug giver”.
Estill leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Sandra Dilbert Bowling whom he married on June 26, 2017 in Sevier County, TN; sons Craig {Theresa} Bowling of New Canaan, Connecticut; Chad Bowling of Vinita, Oklahoma; nieces who were like his daughters, Cynthia Bowling of Somerset and Oreida (Tim) Whiles of Ferguson, KY; brother, Wayne {Lois} Bowling of IIIinois; grandchildren Avery Bowling and Caden Bowling of New Canaan, Connecticut. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who looked to Estill as a grandfather.
Estill loved spending time with the littles of the family, Jaxon and Raegan Whiles who looked at Estill and called him Peepaw; Elijah, Gracelyn and Emma Meeks; Kinley and Avner Bray, who had Estill wrapped around their [itt!e fingers. !f the litt!es wanted him to sit and play, take a ride on the lawn mower or wanted chocolate milk he would dropwhatever he was working on and cater to their needs. Estill took on the role of being a Peepaw, Paw or Good Ole Uncle Estill. He was the most giving and loving hearted person just as all of his Bowling siblings. He was a true giver of himself to anyone he ever met.
Estill is preceded in death by his parents, sister Anita Wilson, brothers, Larry Bowling and Lowell Bowling. Pallbearers will be be, Craig Bowling, Chad Bowling, Elijah Meeks, Benjamin Meeks, Brandon Douglas and Tim Whiles. Honorary pallbearers are Caden Bowling, Avner Bray and Jaxon Whiles. Estill/Dad/Uncle Esti!I/Grandpa will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Steve Bates and Oreida Whiles officiating, burial will follow in Mills Springs National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made In Memory of Estill E. Bowling. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Estill E. Bowling.
