Emma Jo Wethington Mangold

Emma Jo Wethington Mangold, of Pulaski County, KY passed away at her home in Somerset August 12, 2023. She was 83.

Born January 11, 1940 in Clementsville, KY, she is the daughter of the late Emanuel Wethington and Lorena May Gabehart Wethington. She was a teacher in Owensboro and the Pulaski County School System. She made an impact with her children, students and those she met. Her life was filled with the laughter of children, that of her own, her grandchildren, great grandchild, her former students, friends, and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Christopher M Mangold whom she wed on August 20, 1960.

Emma Jo and Christopher have four children which survive them, two daughters and two sons: Marty

(Kenny) Nevels of Pulaski County, Karen Marie Brown of Russell County, Barry Christopher Mangold and Kevin Joesph Mangold both of Fayette County and 6 grandchildren; Bradley (Brooke) Nevels, Kim (Benji) Hudson, Jordan Blair Brown, Christopher (Kellie} Brown,

Bridgette Mangold and Camille Mangold. Three great grandchild, Allie Grace Nevels, Kayelee (Aaron) Henneman, andMacey Hudson.

Emma’ Jo is also survived by three brothers; George (Mary Rose) Wethington, John (Vicki) Wethington,

Bill Wethington and is preceded in death by a sister; Ann (JW) McFarland and a brother; Tom Wethington. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements for Emma Jo Wethington Mangold.
