Elizabeth Maxine Lovins, age 93, of Hillman, Michigan and formerly of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

She was born on January 18, 1930 in Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Rev. Samuel and Lula Brown Wood.

She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and supporting her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nelson Gerald Lovins; son, Larry Lovins; daughter, Kim Loveless; brothers, Sam, Elijah, Charles, Joe and Jim Wood; sisters, Lillian Baker, Marth Jackson, Margaret Loveless, Ruth Manning and Till Hahn; grandson, David Irvin Rader and 2 granddaughters.

She is survived by son, Rodger (Karen) Lovins of Somerset; daughter, Pamela (David) Rader of Hillman, Michigan; sister, Grace (Irvin) Carlier of Blanchester, Ohio; grandchildren, Krista Bullock, Beth Kozack, Loren (Lindsay) Lovins, Adam (Nikki) Lovins, Amber (Thomas) Alley, Jana (John) Post, Zac Loveless, Kandice Grace (Jonathan) Nelson, and a host of great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Harney officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Her grandson’s will serve as pallbearers and great-grandson’s will serve as honorary pallbearers.
