Denzil Harris

Denzil Harris, age 84, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Denzil was born January 31, 1937 to Arvel Harris and Hazel Farmer Harris in Stab, Kentucky.

He was a member of Barnesburg Baptist Church and enjoyed horse back riding, camping, buying and selling cows. He married his wife, Vinnie Ruth Callahan Harris on March 3, 2002 at Barnesburg Church. Denzil loved spending time with his family.

Denzil was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Hazel Harris and brother-in-law, Delma Smith.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Vinnie Harris; sons, Martin “Marty” Denzil Harris (Linda) of Faubush, Ky; Mack Baker (Veronica) of Leslie County, Ky; daughters, Susan Templeman (Daryl) of Todd County, Ky; Kathy Ann Pumprey (Larry) of Somerset; Rhonda Wilburn (Tim) of Somerset; Mallie Pennington (Mark) of Somerset; Lillian Denham (Shane) of Somerset; Debbie Dutton of Somerset; brothers, Br. Harold Harris (Alma) of Somerset; sisters, Frances Smith of Somerset; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2022 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1 P.M. with Bro. Jordan Burks and Bro. Harold Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Denzil Harris.
