Delmer Hail

Delmer Hail, age 91 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
He was born on August 17, 1931 in Strawberry, Kentucky, son of the late William Arthur and Cora Alice Williamson Hail.
Delmer proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer from 1951-1955. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a B.S. in Science, and retired as a Public Health Food Inspector from the Health Department after thirty years of dedicated service. Delmer was saved in 1966 at Immanuel Baptist Church and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed having “fly-ins” to have breakfast and lunch with his friends. He also enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle and four-wheeler. He also enjoyed being on his houseboat and RV with his family. Delmer enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Hail and Albert Hail; and sister, Dessie Coffey.
He is survived by his wife of twenty four years, Patricia “Pat” Hail; stepson, Mike (and Pam) Harris of Somerset; brother, John (and Noralie) Hail of Somerset; and sister, Martha (and Richard) Berry of Torrence, CA.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
