David Richard Young

David Richard Young age 67 of Somerset, Kentucky formerly of New Castle, Indiana, passed from this life on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

David was born on August 29, 1956 to the late John R. Young and Gertrude Cook Young in New Castle, Indiana.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, football, basketball, restoring muscle cars, boating, spending time with his family and working in his yard.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Young, brothers, Frankie, Donald and Jimmy Young and sister, Frances Blackburn.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, David Young II (Rebecca Munsey) of Somerset, Ky; daughters, Chasity Young (Brent Young) of Somerset, Ky; Leslie Young (William Avina) of Somerset, Ky; Summer Lawson of Decatur, IL; Glenna Young whom he was married to from 1980 to 1997, shared 3 children and a life-long friendship with. Brothers, Paul Ray Young, Roy Young, Larry Young (Nancy), Ronnie Young, Rick Young (Tammy); sisters, Ann Curtis (Bob), Louise Jasper and Ruth Newby all of New Castle, IN; grandchildren, Katelynn Haggard, Haley Young, Riley Young , Jayla Beach, Dalton Ewing, Dakota Ewing, great-grandchildren, Alaina Kirby, Taylen Kirby, Dawson Ewing, Dayton Ewing and Mikayla Ewing.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2pm with Bro. Kevin Hampton at Southern Oaks Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rick Young, Ronnie Young, Roy Young, Chris Young, David Young II, William Avina, Brandon Plymale and Brent Young.
