Clyde “Ricky” Wilson

Clyde “Ricky” Wilson age 57, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Friday, September 3, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  

Ricky was born December 16, 1963 to the late Willie Burton and Evelyn Taylor Wilson in Somerset, Kentucky. 

He was of the Christian faith, worked at Oakwood for 18 years, served as a softball umpire, enjoyed UK Basketball; but above all else cherished his family. 

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Burton and Evelyn Wilson; son, Shawn Wilson; brothers, Marvin Tucker, Bradford Wilson, David Wilson; sister, Wynova Wilson.  

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 20 years, Liza Wilson; sons, Kyle Wilson (Tiffany) of Somerset; Hunter Wilson of Somerset; daughter, Paige Wilson of Somerset; stepdaughter, Brooke Vanover (Chad) of Parkers Lake, Ky; brothers, James Wilson (Pam) of Somerset; Willie Wilson of Somerset; Joe Wilson (Linda) of TN; Jimmy Wilson (Pat) of Somerset; sisters, Karen Heath (Gene) of Somerset; Cleda Dalton of Burnside; Betty Matthieu (Jim) of OH; Nina McQueary (Aldon) of Russell Springs, Ky; Darlene Kennedy (Lewis Dalton) of Somerset; Arlene Wilson of Albany; grandchildren, Kylee Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Keira Wilson, Daisy Vanover, Clyde Vanover and Remington Vanover.  

Visitation will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Patrick Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in Somerset Cemetery.  

Per the family’s request, due to COVID-19, masks are required during the visitation and funeral service.  

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Ricky Wilson.
