Bobby “Pa” Dale Mize

Bobby “Pa” Dale Mize, age 88, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.

Bobby was born July 12, 1933 to Nelson Bertie Mize and Goldie Bales in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church and loved to drive down country roads especially with son, Jeff and wife, Lois and dog, Pippen. Bobby loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved being silly, sporting his short shorts and handle bar mustache. He loved to work, enjoyed working as a custodian until his retirement at Northern Middle School and Shopville Elementary.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Mize and Goldie Cundiff; his wife, Lois Mize; paternal grandparents, whom he was raised by, William and Minnie Mize; son, Mark Mize; brother, Ray Mize; and a host of close family and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Jeff (Anna) Mize of Somerset; grandchildren, Miranda (Ben) Hunt of Bowling Green; Caitlin Mize of Somerset; Trevor Mize of Somerset; great-grandchildren, Owen and Everett “Rhett” Hunt and Maverick “Mavy” Hunt; sisters, Pat Cundiff Hardwick; Wanda Lee (Darrell) Murphy; Marsha Vaught.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2 to 4 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 4 P.M. with Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pulaski County Animal Shelter or Humane Society. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Bobby “Pa” Dale Mize.
