Blake Edward Barnes

Blake Edward Barnes, age 28, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

He was born on October 29, 1991 in Somerset, the son of Cathy Thomas Barnes and the late Edward K. Barnes.

He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, worked at Team Modern Distributors, and was also a graduate of Pulaski County High School Class of 2010. He loved riding his motorcycle, enjoyed playing and collecting guitars, and loved his dog Annabelle, but above all things, he loved his children the most. Last Sunday on July 12th, Blake walked down the aisle at Pleasant View Baptist Church while the choir was singing the final verse of “Lord I’m Coming Home”, humbly knelt at the altar, and on his knees, accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Blake will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Cathy Barnes of Somerset; his son, Jacob Barnes, his daughter, Kelsey Barnes; brother, Jason (Whitley) Niceley of Richmond; sisters, Kellee (David) Zimmerman and Melissa (Donovan) Hamm, all of Somerset; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Monday, July 20, 2020 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Bro. Chris Jones officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Gregory, Zachary Niceley, Shannon Sneed, Cody Sears, Kel Lovins and Morgan.
