Bertha M. Battles

Bertha M. Battles, age 85, of Somerset, KY passed away from this life on March 20, 2024.

Bertha was born September 17,1938, in Kettle Island, KY to Tyrus Greene and Delores (Hensley) Quarles.

She was a talented piano player and enjoyed traveling by motorcycle with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rayburn Battles of 64 years; and siblings Mary, Mavis, Tyrus, and Nevada.

She leaves behind to treasure her memory her daughter Rene Hobbs; son Dean Battles; siblings Astor Lee, Donald and Kathleen; grand-children Rechal Hobbs and Ryan Hobbs of Michigan; great grand-child Logan Hobbs of Michigan; and a host of family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation service will be Saturday, March 23, 2024 in the Chapel at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a Funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Southern Oaks Cemetery.

Officiant will be Astor Lee Simpson.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
