Thelma J. Phillips

Thelma J. Phillips, age 70 of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Thelma was born on April 9, 1954 to the late Willie Ping and Nora (Colyer) Ping in Somerset Ky.

She was of the Baptist faith. She was a quilt maker and loved listening to music, especially George Jones. She loved cooking for her family, taking care of others, gardening, canning, shopping at the Goodwill and watching UK Basketball. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Phillips, parents, Willie and Nora Ping, sisters, Doris Daulton and Deloris Ping.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Cary Keith (Laura) of Somerset, Ky; brothers, Don Ping (Linda), Richard Ping and Gerald Ping, sisters, Marie Hudson, Loraine Whitaker, Alberta Miller (Howard) and Linda Mefford; along with grandchildren, Caleb Keith, Livia Keith and dear friend Liz Turpin.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5-8pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 10am with Bro. Mark Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
