Luther James Perkins

Luther James Perkins age 75, of Nancy, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Luther was born on April 14, 1949 to the late Wiley B. Perkins and Gracie B. Harness Perkins. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, making handmade crafts, and collecting figurines. He was a member of the Seabees and was a Vietnam Veteran. Most of all, he cherished his family. Luther was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Gracie Perkins, infant son Jeffery Perkins, brothers Larry and Johnny Perkins and sister Polly Burns. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Marcia Perkins, sons, Matthew Perkins (Sarah) of Lexington, Ky; Martin Perkins of Somerset, Ky; grandchildren Madeline and Joseph Perkins; sister, Peggy Johnson (Richard) of Nancy, Ky, sister in law, Linda Perkins of Ontario, NY; loved like a daughter, Katy Keith and her children, Bryson and Easton; along with and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 11am to 1pm at Grace Baptist Church with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Todd Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grace Baptist Church Missions. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard Post #38. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Luther James Perkins.
