Shannon Mayfield

Shannon Mayfield, age 52 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born on September 15, 1971 in Somerset, Kentucky, the son of Charles and Donna Hancock Mayfield.

Shannon was a salesman for Dal-R’s Hardware Store for 30 years and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed playing cards and playing pool, tending to his landscape and cleaning his truck. He was an avid UK fan and enjoyed watching races. Most of all he loved and cherished his family and his fur baby, Taylor Ann.

Shannon is survived by his parents, Charles and Donna Mayfield of Somerset; the love of his life, Bonnie Moore Mayfield of Monticello; sons, Jacob Mayfield (Mary Burton), Zachary (Shelby) Mayfield, and Travis (Kristy) Moore all of Somerset; daughters, Katherine (Joseph) Burchett of Science Hill and Natasha (Slade) Baughman of Russell Springs; brother, Dennis (Jenifer) Mayfield of Somerset; and grandchildren, Brennaleigh Adkins, Kaiden Adkins, Mason Mayfield, Ella Mayfield and Parker Moore.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
