Linda Land Beasley

Linda Land Beasley, age 81 of Ferguson, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at her residence.

Linda was born January 24, 1942 to Thomas Vernon Land and Lounata Virginia Newby Land in Corbin, Kentucky.  She spent her early years in Madison County, Kentucky while her father served our country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. When he returned home the family moved to Somerset, Kentucky. She graduated from Somerset High School in 1960, attended Durham’s Beauty School in Danville, Kentucky and went on to earn her license to practice cosmetology. During her career she worked in several salons and as a sales associate at Watson’s and JCPenny department stores.

Linda was of the Christian faith. She was an accomplished artist in several mediums, was an avid reader and music lover.

Passing before her was the love of her life, John R. Beasley her husband of 56 years, and her parents.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved daughter and only child Krista Kay Beasley Whitaker (Edward) of Lexington, like a daughter Kimberly Ruth Shepperd Wakeland (Roy) of Lexington, sister Sondra Turner (Steve) of Science Hill, sisters-in-law Jerry Sue Copenhaver (Jim Helton) of Ferguson and Jeanne Spaw (Arnold) of Ferguson and very dear friend Versie Dotson of Somerset.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
