James Ferrell

James Ferrell, age 79 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

He was born on August 10, 1944 in Eubank, Kentucky, son of the late John and Katherine Williamson Ferrell.

James was a retired truck driver for Somerset Refinery and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He liked hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. In 1966, James became a volunteer Fire Fighter. He was a dedicated Fire Fighter for Ferguson Fire Department for over 47 years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several half brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Ann Ferrell; son, James Timothy (Stacey) Ferrell of Somerset; daughter, Deanna Gadberry of Somerset; brother, William “Bill” (Agnes) Ferrell of Daytona, FL; sister, Wilma Dean Denney of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Jessie Gadberry (Thomas McKinney) of Richmond and James Wesley (Emily) Ferrell of Somerset.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Immanuel Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church with Bro. Ron Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
