 Barry Wayne Phelps, age 73 of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at his home.

Barry was born on November 12, 1950 to Glendon Phelps and Wilma Bray Phelps in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was of the Baptist faith. He proudly served in the United States Army and spent 30 plus years working at Ikerd and Bandy as a welder.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Glendon and Wilma Phelps. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 33 years, Carol Phelps, sons, Ryan Phelps (Ashley) of Somerset, Ky; Steven Dykes (Misty Shoopman) of Somerset, Ky; Paul Dykes (Pam) of Waynesburg, Ky; daughters, Rebecca Wright (Jordan) and Scottie Whitaker both of Somerset, Ky; sister, Louise Tomlinson (Dale) also of Somerset; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; along with 3 special kids, Michael, Albert, David and a host of friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. David Hawk officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.
