Carl David Patrick, age 84 of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, November 10, 2023 at his home.

He was born on July 13, 1939 in Williamsburg, Kentucky, son of the late Simon and Rhetta Mae Sumner Patrick.

He was a self-employed contractor and of the Baptist faith. Carl loved to go fishing, watch old westerns, and read Louis L’ Amour Western novels anytime that he was able. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and he loved his grandchildren immensely.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Opal Marie Patrick; brothers, Silas, Joe, Jim, George, Simon, Jr. and William Patrick; sister, Disie Patrick Watson; and granddaughter, Brandi Nicole King.

He is survived by his son, David (Tammi) Patrick of Ooltewah, Tennessee; daughter, Krystal Patrick (Greg Owens) of Whitley City; grandchildren, Corey Patrick, Lucas (Jennifer) Waters and Kaitlin (Blake) Mounce; great-grandchildren, Reily Patrick, Abel Tarter and Remy Mounce; special friends, Brenda Payne of Stearns and Betty Boyd of Whitley City.

A private service will be held at a later date.
