William “Bill” D. Whitaker

William “Bill” D. Whitaker, age 74, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at his home.

Bill was born on March 10, 1949 to the late Robert A. Whitaker and Edith Phelps Whitaker in Somerset, Kentucky.

He loved building guitars and loved all things musical. He enjoyed fishing and practicing karate. His family was his life.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith Whitaker, a brother, Robert Troxtle and nephew, Robbie Troxtle.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 35 years, Emma Jo Whitaker, brother, Dennis Whitaker (Freda) of Versailles, Ky; sisters, Rita Diane Bray (Joey) of Bronston, Ky; Sandee Cecil of Richmond, Ky; a bonus son, Daulton “Alex” Bailey of Texas; along with nieces and nephews, Danny, Erica, Kyra, Amie, Kristen, Josh, Brandon, Kia, Kalena, Eddie, Kim, and a host of bonus great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 10am-12pm Central Standard Time and 11am-1pm Eastern Standard Time in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral to begin at 12pm (Central) and 1pm (Eastern) with Bro. Chuck Godby officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for William “Bill” D. Whitaker.
