Bonnie Collins, age 90, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at her home.
Bonnie was born on August 21, 1933 to the late Lucian Allen and Sara Davidson Allen in Oneida, Kentucky.
She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She loved to cook for others and was a successful restaurant owner of “Allen’s Café” for over 30 years. She enjoyed cleaning, ironing, grocery shopping and watching her favorite soap opera, “The Young and The Restless”. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Sill Collins, her parents, Lucian and Sara Allen, daughter, Gayle Logan, brother, Bob Allen, sister, Nanalee Davidson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brothers, Charles Allen (Nanalee) of Alabama, Larry Hyden of Ohio, sister, Freda Akers of Columbus, OH; special niece, Debbie Akers, special great-nieces, Alia Shubaily, Dana Shubaily and great-nephew, Raad Shubaily, grandchildren, Kris Gilbert (Melissa), great-grandchildren, Shon Gilbert, Kenzee Gilbert.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 12-1pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Allan Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Bonnie Collins.
