Phyllis W. Collingsworth

Phyllis W. Collingsworth, age 84, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

Phyllis was born on May 26, 1939 to the late Willis Widener and Laura Meyers Widener in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

She was a member of West Somerset Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency Board Member, she loved her church and church family. She was a former Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher and a CNA for Lifeline Home Health. She enjoyed babysitting for 15 years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Laura Widener, her husband, Wenifred Collingsworth, brothers, Paul Widener and Silas Widener, sisters, Nell Hall, Violet Napier, Lolas Hall and great-granddaughter, Callie Eleanora Jones.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Timothy (Marina) Collingsworth of Milan, Italy; Darryle (Kaye) Collingsworth of Somerset, Ky; Gerald (Linda) Collingsworth of Somerset, Ky; daughter, Laura (Eddie) Phelps of Somerset, Ky; sister, Joyce Middleton of Middlesboro, Ky; grandchildren, Chris Collingsworth, Sabrina (Stefano) Beccati of Milan, Italy; Heather Bullock of Somerset, Ky; Matthew (Angela) Collingsworth of Somerset, Ky; Shannon (Jennifer) Irving of Dekalb, IL; Shauna (Sonny) Romero of Somerset, Ky; Donna Staley of Somerset, Ky; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 5-9pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 12pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Blevins and Bro. James Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Phyllis W. Collingsworth.
