Jeannetta Frances Burton Chumbley, age 79, of Russell Springs, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 with her children by her side at Baptist Health East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born May 10, 1943 in Adair County, Kentucky to the late James Milton and Lottie Ash Burton. She married her husband, Gene Chumbley on November 15, 1960 in Adair County.

Jeannetta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Chumbley, one grandson, Roy Chumbley Jr., son-in-law, Dennis Stapp, 5 sisters, Kathaleen Burton, Wanda Barton, Paulette Goode, Revena Butler, Geraldine Sharp.

She was a retired factory worker and home maker, she enjoyed watching WLJC, enjoyed working with flowers and taking care of pets.

She is survived by her 4 children, Roy (Teresa) Chumbley, Daniel (Jill) Chumbley, Steven Michael (Megan) Chumbley, one daughter, Linda Stapp all of Russell Springs, Ky; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild coming in November 2022; 3 brothers, J.T. Burton and Jeff Burton of Indianapolis, IN and Elmer Burton of Columbia, Ky; one sister, Trish Burton Obermuller of Port Richey, FL; along with special friend, Beth Meirs and 2 fur babies, Peanut and Lupen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. (Eastern time) in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1 P.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Terry Boston officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Jeannetta Frances Burton Chumbley.
