Gilbert Lee Edwards, age 71, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Gilbert was born October 29, 1950 to Gilbert Edwards and Velva Hargis Edwards in Mt. Victory, Kentucky.

He was a member of Barnesburg Baptist Church and he enjoyed farming, working and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Velva Edwards, brothers, Jerry Edwards and James N. Edwards.

He leaves behind to cherish is memory, his wife, Jane Edwards; son, Gilbert Lee Edwards Jr. (Charity); daughter, Becki Flugum (Justin); brother, Robert Edwards (Kathy); sisters, Janet Foster (Jerry); Verna Dick; Lois Ann Woodall all of Somerset; grandchildren, Gilbert Lee Edwards III (Courtney), Caden Edwards, Faith Edwards, Alanna Flugum and Lilly Flugum; along with great-grandchild, Gilbert Lee Edwards IV.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 6 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Lick Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Gilbert Lee Edwards.
