Linda Lee Mardis

Linda Lee Mardis age 81, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Friday July 23, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. 

Linda was born March 26, 1940 to the late Arvin and Beatrice Cantrell in Green County, Kentucky. 

She was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church and was an accomplished cook and dedicated Pulaski County School System employee for approximately 30 years as a bookkeeper and the central office in the cafeteria program. She was elected into the Kentucky Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame for her work with the state and local bowling associations. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, UK basketball, and her little dogs Rusty and Buddy. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Arvin and Beatrice Cantrell, husband William (Bill) Mardis, and brother Billy Cantrell. 

She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her two loving sons, William Michael Mardis of Somerset and Steven (Doug) Mardis (Kelly) of Titusville, FL, sisters, Sue Cook of Louisville, Arlene Cantrell of Louisville, brothers, David Cantrell of Somerset, and James Cantrell of Somerset. Grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, and Katie Mardis. 

Visitation will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 9am -11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 11am with Bro. Randy Smith officiating, burial will follow In the Southern Oaks cemetery.
